If I had to choose one verse from the Bible, it would be Psalm 16:11
“Instead, YOU (God) direct me on the path that leads to a beautiful life. As I walk with You, the pleasures are never-ending, I know true joy & contentment.” (Voice)
This verse came to me through a timely email when I was going through a time of betrayal from “friends”.
I was deeply hurt when they excluded me. I don’t remember offending them. I also prayed to God to reveal to me if there was anything I said or did that might have offended them. But nothing came to mind…
I guess one thing I learnt about friendship, unfortunately, not all friendships always last. Sadly. It’s just life… people will move on or they just change for whatever reasons.
This verse reminds me that only God can truly satisfy us. We can experience true joy and contentment in Him alone. As I journey with God on a daily basis, He satisfies me and brings me peace that surpasses all understanding.
There’s nothing wrong to pray for Godly friends. I actually encourage you to do that, maybe do that right now where you are. It may take a while… But I’m thankful God has been so gracious in blessing me with friends that are genuine, loyal, who deeply care and support me through the ups and downs in life. Friends who find it a blessing, not a burden to journey through life with you. Helping you to become the person God created you to be. Thanking God for friends who pray for me, my ministries I’m involved in and even asking if there’s anything they can help out with to lighten my burdens.
I saw this quote on Instagram from Proverbs 31 Ministries just a few days ago. And I really like it.
Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Continue to pray that you will be a good friend, just as you pray for good friends! ❤
