Movie Review – God’s Not Dead 2

Movie Review – God’s Not Dead 2  (2016)

My mum suggested to watch this for Mother’s Day! So we as a family had a good time learning more about God together! 🙂

A MUST watch for ALL Christians! Also bring your non-Christian friends! It covers many Q&As about God.

Synopsis:

High school history teacher Grace Wesley (Melissa Joan Hart) comes under fire for answering a student’s (Hayley Orrantia) question about Jesus. When Grace refuses to apologize, the school board votes to suspend her and threatens to revoke her teaching certificate. Forced to stand trial to save her career, Grace hires young lawyer Tom Endler (Jesse Metcalfe) to defend her in court. Endler devises a powerful strategy to show the jury the historical significance of Wesley’s classroom discussion.

Favourite quotes: “Prayer always seem to be the last thing we do, when it should be the first!”

Another wise saying from Wesley’s grandfather in the midst of the vicious court proceedings makes a bold statement about atheism: “That’s the thing about atheism, it doesn’t take away the pain, it takes away the hope.”

A quote spoken by her lawyer sums it all up best: “They wanted to make you an example but instead you became an inspiration.”

Favourite Scenes:

This was a very moving scene. You can’t help but sing along with the students! 🙂

Hahaha, can you believe this Asian guy had 100+ Questions about God? Rev. Dave had to spend 4 hours explaining/answering his questions! =)

Romans 8:18-21 ” I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.”

Last but not least:

A lovely quote from Grace Wesley’s grandfather to encourage her when she felt that God was so far away when she needed Him the most.

If you have watched it, what did you think about it? 🙂
